On November 13, 2023, the general meeting of the Weld Test and Inspection Sub-Technical Committee of the National Welding Standardization Technical Committee and the first general meeting of all members were successfully held in Hefei, Anhui Province. The conference was hosted by Shanghai Materials Research Institute Co., Ltd. and co-organized by National Energy Group Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. Tan Xiangning, deputy chief engineer of China Machinery Industry Federation, and Yang Yuting, chairman and party secretary of Harbin Welding Research Institute Co., Ltd. of China Machinery General Institute Group, were invited to attend the meeting. In terms of standards, three improvements should be deepened. One is to increase the proportion of scientific and technological innovation achievements transformed into standards, the other is to improve the quality and efficiency of standards, and the third is to improve the level of the Standards Committee.

The report reviewed the work carried out by the third sub technical committee in the aspects of standard system revision, international standard voting, standard discussion, etc., put forward the working idea of the fourth sub technical committee, and put forward the opinions and suggestions to further strengthen the construction of the committee itself: first, to strengthen the establishment and development of important standards, the second is to strengthen the revision and transformation of the original standards, the third is to continue to expand the influence of the standards, and the fourth is to continue to improve the committee's own construction.
